Senior MySQL Database Administrator

- We are a MySQL shop basically operating within the LAMP/J architecture. We are looking for a DBA with a well rounded skill set at both the operational and development levels including data modeling, logical and physical database design, overall architecture design and implementation, query optimization and mentoring app development teams in both traditional database and warehouse environments. The ability and willingness to engage in knowledge transfer of these skills to others is important as is the willingness to continually learn new skills.

Requirements:
- 5 Years DBA experience in development or production capacity
- 3 years Development DBA experience supporting the development of custom applications in a production environment
- 3 Years Unix or Linux experience / strong working knowledge of hardware systems, RAID and disk subsystems in fault tolerant environments
- 2 Years MySQL experience
- 2 Years experience in Data Warehouse development/support experience including dimensional modeling, physical design and/or ETL development
- Experience with and leadership roles in design through all phases of the systems development lifecycle
- Desire to lead DBA teams, to lead projects and to have visibility across multiple business units
- Desire to have ownership of and responsibility for the success major multi-discipline projects
- Ability to manage the design efforts of multiple teams in multiple projects
- Ability to show leadership as technical resource/mentor for multiple software engineering teams
- Ability to utilize one or more scripting language - bash/perl/php utilized in production support operations
- Ability to effectively communicate with both IT and business-side people to achieve results
Beneficial Extras:
- Gaming Experience - console, PC, FPS, MMO, etc. is a very strong plus
- Experience managing high volume, high concurrency environments and multi-TB OLTP databases
- Experience with ControlTier, Oracle or other RDBMS, source control system such as Perforce, Subversion, etc.
